Cockle-lines-1926-2012

Cockleshell’s first sailplan of 1926 compared to the current rig, adopted in 1984. There has been gradual evolution over the years firstly by reducing the long footed mainsail and adding a fixed backstay, and adding the higher foretriangle and larger genoa, adopted in 1971.

The hull lines have now been digitised for posterity, using the original hand drawn lines and checking dimensions from the hull itself. This reveals additional freeboard added during the build that undoubtedly improved the boat.
